i love it when i find design inspiration in movies. i saw this one a few weeks ago and it was full of it! i have loved Wes Anderson movies since the first time i saw The Royal Tennenbaums when it came out. i will admit that they are not for everyone or kids for that matter, but i adore his sense of humor. it remains my all-time favorite movie.

set in 1965, it's about two 12 year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away into the wilderness. the movie is quirky, full of color and personality. the background is a new england island and i especially love all the camping gear and boyscout-like paraphernalia. check out the Moonrise Kingdom trailer & the official site |

it follows the lives of three gifted children who experience great success in their youth, but are faced with disappointment and failure after their father leaves them in their adolescent years. |
this Wes Anderson movie is for kids and happens to be one of my son's favorites

it's about a fox who steals food from three mean and wealthy farmers. they get fed up and come after him, but the animals are able to outwit them. |
music videos can also be just as inspiring. this one is absolutely beautiful.
and this song by Alexander's other band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros is currently on repeat on my ipod.
